Honestly, it’s disappointing because they clearly did not have this in mind throughout the seasons. There are so many gaping plot holes. Also, the more I think about it, the more dissatisfied I am with the ending. Both Blair and Serena wind up with guys who have, in many senses of the word, abused them, and these issues are never addressed, especially with Dan and Serena. I want to just be able to enjoy it and be like “Aww, how sweet,” but I can’t, because essentially, her ending up with him is incredibly problematic considering the things he has done directly to her.
But of course, Gossip Girl is not by any means a serious show; it’s just fluff. It got so bad. If I heard someone say, “BUT YOU’RE NOT A PART OF ~*~*~*~MY WORLD*~*~*~*~*~” again I would have stapled my ears shut lol :p And I was so sick of Chuck going, “NO, BLAIR, WE SIMPLY CANNOT BE TOGETHER BECAUSE FIRST I MUST ~*DEFEAT*~ MY FATHER!!!!111”
I just wanted to shake them and tell them to stop with the melodrama, chill out, and stop being so pretentious! Blegh.
Time to watch Gossip Girl all over again with this newfound knowledge.
Ed Westwick’s accent tho….unf
